Glider Care
Sugar gliders are small, gliding marsupials that require proper care, diet, husbandry, and time to ensure they thrive in their new home. We recommend doing a lot of research prior to adopting a sugar glider, making sure they will be a good fit for your home. In this section, we will lightly touch on the basics needed for sugar glider cost, diet, and husbandry.

How Much Will I Spend?
The cost of a sugar glider greatly varies based on color morph, gender, and breeding specifics. Generally, you can expect to spend at least $250 or more per young joey, if that glider is a standard grey. The start up costs of getting your first glider colony can be the greatest part of your expense. Below I will highlight what to expect when setting up your colony.
Sugar Gliders
Sugar Gliders can cost $250 and up, depending on the circumstances. Sometimes you can find rescue gliders for a lesser price, but you also are more likely to get older gliders that have not been socialized and could be aggressive or have health issues.
Our gliders will start at $250 and then prices can increase based on color, if a male needs neutered, or for breeding rights and the hets that glider carries.
We do offer discounts on multiple gliders and offer payment plans for the balance after a 25% non-refundable deposit to hold the joey(s) for you.

Cages
Sugar glider cages that meet the proper minimum cage requirements for size and material typically start around $150 and go up from there.
Cage Sets
Cage sets and things needed for the cage include fleece sleeping arrangements (pouches, hammocks, etc), safe toys, and a cage cover. Cage sets generally average $50, but can be more for higher quality and more pieces. Just because a set is cheaper and seems like a good deal, does not mean it is safe. Toys are the same and vary in price. Some vendors make custom cage covers and will vary in price, you may also be able to purchase a cover from the vendor your purchase your cage from.

Diets & Treats
Sugar gliders require specialized diets to meet all of their nutritional needs. You can expect to spent $50+ per batch of food. Glider food can be made in large batches and frozen, which helps with cost.
Treat cost will vary based on the type of treat and the amount you purchase.
Wheels
A good, safe glider wheel will cost around $50. You can also purchase a treadmill, which would run around the same amount. Some vendors do packages with both for a discount.
Food & Water Dishes
You can expect to spend around $15-20 on food bowls and water bowls/silos/bottles. There are also holders you can purchase for treats, as well as glider kitchens to keep messiness down, which will fluctuate your cost.
Transport
Ground transport companies are used to transport sugar gliders all over the country (illegal states excluded). If you are near your breeder, you may be able to meet up with them or go to their facility to pick up your babies. However, if you find the perfect glider for you and are not close, you can have your breeder arrage transport.
Adopting gliders from us, we do offer ground transport shipping. If you are able to pick your babies up, you can at no extra cost. We will meet closer for a travel fee, or we can arrange the transportation through a transport company. This cost varies, starting around $200.
